  • Are both graduate and undergraduate students allowed to participate?
Yes, both undergraduates and graduates can participate.
  • Is individual participation allowed?
No! This is a team competition. We want to judge everyone on the comprehensiveness and creativity in their case solution. To judge one person on the same criteria as a group is simply put not fair for you or desirable for us. This is a non-negotiable rule.
  • When does the registration period end?
Depends on which batch of registrations: Early birds close on December 31st, Regulars on February 16th, and Lates on March 8th. Keep in mind, the case submission deadline is March 9th!
  • Can I have an exception and participate even though I'm not a student?
No you may not, however we really appreciate your enthusiasm! Stay connected with the IFSA Network / HGGBC for similar opportunities more fitting for young professionals.
  • When will the finalists be announced?
About a month before the finale.
  • Can multiple teams from the same university participate?
Yes, of course! However, they may not collaborate on the case or idea share.
  • When will the agenda for the event be released?
Usually, a general agenda is released before the end of the calendar year, see our "Requirements & Timeline" page. A detailed agenda is released a couple of weeks before the finale to our participants.
  • What should I attach in the registration email after purchasing my ticket?
Your proof of purchase, names of students (with a team captain), a team name, and proof of enrollment of the running academic year. Optionally, but strongly recommended, upload your Résumé/CV so it can be shared with our partners/sponsors/recruiters.
  • Can I receive a refund if I am not selected within the top 10 finalists?
    Tickets are not refundable.
  • What is the maximum number of participants allowed per team?
Teams are between 2 and 5 people.
  • Can I receive a certificate of participation?
Yes, you will receive it in your inbox a few weeks after the in-person events. :)
  • How will I receive the case?
It will be sent out by email to your team captain.
  • How should the case solution be presented?
We expect a powerpoint / PDF pitch deck. You can see our "Past Editions" page for some winning case solutions and use them as exemplars!
  • Can we see an example of the winning case solution from the last years?
Yes! Please see the "Past Editions" page to see the solutions & cases from the past few years :)
  • I signed up late (after the official case release). When will I receive the case?
Certainly within 24-48 hours after you signing up! Please give us your patience with this.
  • Where do we sign in on the day of the event?
This information will be shared by email with all attendants.
  • Will the finalists receive financial support to cover their expenses to and during the competition?
Unfortunately, we are not able to financially support participants. However, bear in mind that most universities are willing to hand out financial help for such competitions! You should inquire with your faculty.
  • Do we need to bring anything besides the tickets?
You’ll need your passport/valid photo ID for the gala. P.S. I'd bring some nice business attire for the events :)
  • Could you provide us some assistance to obtain our visas?
We can provide with a document/letter stating that you’re participating in this competition as your purpose of visiting. However, we are not a government organisation and hence cannot deal with your visa.
  • If I am not selected in the top 10, can I still attend the competition in Harvard as a visitor? If so, could I also take part in the networking events?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to attend all events and meet other teams.
